Your free Bonfire Night guide for Bristol 2017

October 31, 2017

Welcome back to Broke in Bristol, the blog that helps you save money, make money and live life to the full on a shoestring. Bonfire Night falls on a Sunday this year and we’ve found five free events we think are worth checking out over the weekend.

1. Saturday Nov 4th. 5;30pm. Free.

Celebrate Saturday night at the Elm Tree pub in Bishopsworth,

where they will be hosting a free fireworks display for families as well as a BBQ. You can find more details here.

2. Saturday Nov 4th. 6:00pm. Free (£1 parking).

This firework display in Stapleton could be perfect for small children who don’t like big bangs! Visitors can expect low noise fireworks, hot food and live music.

3. Sunday Nov 5th. 6:00 pm start. Free.

Victoria Park Bonfire Night is always a great event and although there are no official fireworks, visitors can expect a blooming great bonfire and food and drink stalls. You can bring your wood contributions for the fire from 3:30pm onwards. Judging of the guy competition starts at 6:00pm and the fire will be lit at 6:15pm.

4.Sunday Nov 5th. 6:00pm. Suggested donation £2.

The Trinity Centre’s Festival of Light party will feature live music, circus performers and food to warm the cockles. This is always a popular event and priority will be given to people with flyers, which you can pick up in advance from reception.

5. Sunday Nov 5th, 6:00pm. Free, donations welcome.

If you live in or near Bradley Stoke check out this free firework display at the Jubilee Centre. Gates open at 4:00pm and the firework display starts at 6pm. There will be no charge for entrance but organisers will be collecting for the Mayor’s charities Cardiomyopathy UK and Freewheelers Emergency Voluntary Service.

Please check all event details before heading on out. Have we missed anything? You can share any free, or really cheap, events on the Broke in Bristol Facebook page. Have a great weekend and stay safe!
