The best dressed Xmas houses in Bristol

A house in Brentry, Bristol is all lit up for Christmas
Brentry Christmas House

When my daughter was younger, I used to love driving past the Brailsford house in Brentry where we'd look in awe at the lights and decorations and really get into the Christmas spirit. Although she wouldn’t appreciate it now that she’s a teenager, it’s been such a huge part of the annual festive tradition that I’ve decided to write a post on the best dressed Bristol houses.

Brentry

2020 has been a really tough year so if you need to put a smile on your family's face then take a look at the snowmen and lights at this house in Brentry. To make you feel even more warm and glowy, all proceeds go to the Wallace and Gromit Grand Appeal and so over the years the Brailsford brothers have raised over £60,000.

Almondsbury

You’d have a difficult job finding anything more spectacular than the showstopping display at this house in Almondsbury. Graham and Sue Hawkes have really gone to town on their house and have raised more than £40,000 for charity since 2005.

Where to? Cope Park, Almondsbury Bradley Stoke

Check out the Bradley Stoke Christmas Lights House which has moved from Watch Elm Close to 30 Brake Close this year. Organisers Mike and Eddie are raising money for St Peter’s Hospice and kindly ask you to please respect social distancing if you visit.

Stockwood

Kids and adults alike will love the Penguin Party at the Garton Gaff in Stockwood which is now up and running and will be lit up from 4:30 to 9:30pm every day.

Where to? 7 Materman Road. Stockwood. BS14 8ST

Oldland Common

There are a couple of best dressed Christmas houses in Oldland Common including this one with its snowmen and reindeers made out of pallets.

Staple Hill

Jake Skinner lights up his house every year in aid of Macmillan and you can donate here www.justgiving.com/JakesChristmaslights.

Where to? Crossfield Road, BS16 4SJ

Thornbury

The Thornbury display will be happening at the Jefferies house this year but there won't be the usual launch event as organisers don’t want to encourage crowds of people. This Winter Wonderland will definitely put the family in the festive spirit.

Where to? Eastland Ave, Thornbury, BS35 1DU
